Tried them on a new frame and they worked fine, know more later. Thanks Bob Demberger
These bushings are beyond expectation! Instead of struggling with a screw driver and probably stripping out or cross threading the bushing or stripping the shoulder. These bushings are driven in place by a socket, all it takes is a 3/16 socket to seat (and torque) the bushing in place. No slipping. No breakage of side wall of the bushing. No struggle when the screwdriver slips off. The bushing is a much finer product, start the thread and drive it home with a socket wrench...effortless. Did it get patented yet?
After having damaged so many standard grip screw bushings (slightly deforming the slot) I have learned of these. And since then I have never reached for a Brownells grip screw bushing tool again. These are much easier to install and remove without ever having to worry about damaging them.
The hex shaped body makes perfect sense for this application. Much more so than the slotted variety, which are easy to install but difficult to remove. I torqued them to the specified in/lb. and didn't use thread locker, so we'll see if they eventually work loose, but I suspect not. Fit to standard thickness grips is perfect.
These bushings were very easy to install.... once I bought the nut driver. I struggled trying to get them in without stripping threads. With the nut driver, it was a piece of cake to do right.
